Welcome back to The Holiday Home Series.
My favorite Christmas decorating elements are everyday items with sentimental meaning.
Every year, I set up a vignette in the master bedroom using mementoes from our four babies.
This year, I put a different spin on the vignette by incorporating our Grandma's vintage costume jewelry.
Grannie is a very special lady.
Putting her vintage jewelry next to our babies first shoes totally gives me the warm and fuzzies.
It represents the generations of our family and our roots.
Not to mention, her stuff is really cool.
Some of the pieces I used on the tree were chosen for their color, like this white elephant necklace (my absolute favorite).
The clock necklace was chosen for the obvious correlation between Christmas and clocks.
The Matthew 7:7 pendant is a great reminder of the true meaning of Christmas and an inspiring example of Grannies faith.
I used a combination of new and vintage bulbs. The shiny brown and matte blue are from the Martha Stewart Collection. The gold vintage bulbs are from my Mom, an antique dealer.
I put the extra ornaments in a glass bowl with Grannies faux pearls and vintage button necklace next to the tree.
Each year I display the family Christening gown next to our baby vignette.
To anyone else, this vignette is pretty simple but to us, it's exceptional.

Merry Christmas,
What a beautiful color scheme!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and meaningful idea! I haven't done something like this before, but I will be sure to start. Justly lovely.

Lovely!! I need to think of something like that to do in my own room. Have never decorated my bedroom for the Holidays.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this idea! beautiful photography too
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! I love putting a new photo on the tree to commemorate the year. One day I hope to have enough photo frame ornaments to do just a photo tree!
ReplyDeleteOh I absolutely love this. Especially the jewelry. So special.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday decoration is the mini tree I fill with handmade decorations from my boys. Along with yearly picture ornaments, I hang the ornaments that remind me of their interests each year...think Pokemon, Scooby Doo, and Spongebob Squarepants! They have long outgrown these stages, but I still remember each one fondly...and love to think about all those fun years whenever I see this tree.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Stylish!
ReplyDeleteOh! I wish I had more of my Grandmothers' things. I have so many cousins that all of their belongings have been well distibuted. I think I'll collect some of my mother's stuff now to give to my children in the future. Love the mix of blue and brown by the way!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see how that button necklace goes together . . . I have my grandmother's buttons, and that would be a PERFECT way to share them with my sisters-in-law, cousins, etc. Pretty please?
ReplyDeleteThank you, too, for sharing such beautiful photos. Inspiring!
How beautiful!
