Bedroom Makeover~Before and After~A Design Plan Comes To Life

We currently have openings for new online design projects, please click here for more details!

One of my absolute favorite things is receiving "after" pictures in my email inbox.  Today, I'm going to share some that were just sent in by my e-design client, Barbara.  We recently had the opportunity to provide Barbara with an online design plan for her master bedroom.  After Barbara completed our project questionnaire, she returned it along with measurements and photos of her space.  Then, we got busy creating a custom design plan that gave Barbara specific product recommendations and instructions on how to implement a professional custom design in her master bedroom.

Here is a look at the room before the design consultation…

Barbara wanted her bedroom to be high in style but still relaxed and comfortable.  Most of the rest of her home is decorated in neutrals, so color was a welcome addition in this space.  As you can see, she already had some great furnishings and wanted us to keep some of her current pieces in the design.  One of the things Barbara mentioned in her consultation questionnaire was that it was important for us to incorporate a piece of art that has special meaning to her.  It's a needlepoint angle that her mother made and you will see in the "after" pictures below how that piece is now the focal point of the space.

Here is a look at the design plan we created for Barbara...

After we delivered this plan, Barbara got to work implementing her custom design.  She made a few substitutions, but used this plan as her general guide.  For instance, she chose a chair that had a similar look to the chair we suggested, but was more tailored to her personal comfort needs.  It is the same style and color.  Another example of a substitution she made are the mercury glass lamps.  The lamps she chose are very similar to the lamps we put in her design plan. Barbara also decided not to incorporate a TV into the new design and replaced it with a mirror.

Are you ready to see what the room looks like now?
Take a look…

What I love most about this space, is how her special needlepoint angel is now the focal point of the room.  Barbara did an amazing job following our plan, tweaking it to meet her personal needs and implementing the new design.  I also have to point out that this real-life makeover with real-life photography is a great example of the results our online design plan service provides.

Thank you Barbara for allowing me to share your project.  We really enjoyed working with you and hope you are enjoying your new bedroom!
