One Room Seven Different Rugs~Orange/Navy Play Room

Today's featured design boards are from a small project last week where I helped a client choose a new rug for her sons play room.  I created seven different design boards with seven different rug options for her to choose from.  All of these rugs would look amazing in the space and would be great for a play room.  From super soft synthetic options to high quality wool they are all stain resistant.  They start at $247  and are available in my shop (for a limited time). 

Let's take a look…

Before we get into the rug options, let me tell you about the other items in the board.  The room is painted in a beautiful neutral gray-based beige.  To give my client an idea of what each different rug would look like in the space, I created seven mini-design boards.  They include other design elements that I thought would be nice to add to the space.   My client predetermined that she wanted navy and orange accent colors and a fun superhero theme.  

For art, the orange wooden letters could spell out his name or superhero words like bang or pow.  These are an easy DIY project (click here for a full tutorial).

These canvas drapes at Land Of Nod have the sweetest white stitching detail.  Someone pointed out to me that the drapes remind her of superhero capes, and I agree!

This sweet toy chest from Kiddie Care  is perfect for his ninja turtle collection...

These navy and white striped canvas totes (Garnet Hill Kids) are great for storage and the perfect bold, graphic pattern for the superhero theme…

And these super soft floor poufs (coming to my shop soon) bring color and texture to the design as well as a soft place to sit.

This is a fun example of how a rug can have a big impact on a design.  Just as art can bring a lot of personality to a space, so can a beautiful area rug.
