What Is An Online Design Plan, Anyway?

I'd like to humbly share the words of one of my recent online design clients.
These are her thoughts on our online design plan service...

"I am an online design client of Sarah's.  I sent her photos of my living room, a budget and design considerations.  I had an open concept room with multiple focal points and no idea where to start.  Sarah kept in communication with me during the time she was creating her design.  In less than six weeks, Sarah sent back a COMPLETE room plan from floor to ceiling.  She recommended a rug, furniture, paint colors, art, accent pieces and window coverings.  Everything is so pulled together, which is something I felt my rooms always lacked.  We absolutely love it.  Sarah listened to my needs and came up with a stunning and affordable design that is current and timeless.  As a busy working professional, this was an awesome time saver and well worth the cost!".

Thank you!

Using a recent project as an example, I'd like to show what a typical online design plan is made of.  This living room design plan is hot off the press for another one of my favorite clients. After a consultation, we create a professional custom design for your space using your current pieces and/or all new products (depending on your unique needs/desires/budget).  We then determine what recommendations need to be made for your space.  In most cases, our design plans include the following...

Inspiration Board
Along with a detailed plan on how to implement the design in your space and a complete product source list.

Art/Wall Decor Recommendations
As well as my advice on placement.  Using unique art to personalize a space is a big part of my design approach.

Custom Paint Color Recommendations
Hand selected paint colors based on your unique design to test in your space.

Window Treatments
Along with tips on how they should be installed.

Lighting
Overhead lighting, lamps, accent lighting, ceiling fans, chandeliers etc.

Accessories
Along with accessory placement suggestions and styling tips.

Furniture/Area Rugs
Including proper size recommendations for your space and upholstery suggestions (if needed).

Custom Detail Suggestions
Suggestions for custom features such as moldings/stonework/unique paint treatments, elements that take your space to the next level.

Furniture Arrangement
True to scale floor plan that includes accurate measurements of the pieces we incorporated into your design (and your current pieces if applicable).

We provide you with a simple, but complete plan that empowers you to implement a polished, unique, professional design in your home (with confidence).  You can install your new design immediately or over time as your schedule/budget allow.  You can also use your plan as inspiration to make your own product selections based on the general concepts we've provided. For more information on my affordable online design service or to make your reservation, click here.

To demonstrate how easy our plans are to implement, I am flying to Denver to personally install a recent design plan for one lucky client.  It will be a two day, real life, real home makeover experience that I can't wait to share!

  2. This is a great idea you have come up with. Many people would like to work with designers but don't know how to begin and/or don't have the money. You have made it much more accessible and affordable. Not to mention how lovely your designs are :)

  7. Such a great color scheme! I wanted to go with a blue in my living room but hadn't found the right inspiration with a natural color couch and walls. This would be easy to do and a nice touch of color with out going overboard. Continually enjoy your blog!
