Coastal Elegance~A Refined Beach Inspired Design Plan

Today's online design plan was created for wonderful client, Lisa, looking to transition her semi-formal, executive style home into a lighter, more relaxed coastal design.

After getting to know her, I learned that she admires the light, airy, elegant, french inspired home of Interior Decorator Joni Webb of Cote de Texas.  Specifically the combination of linen and seagrass used in her living room.  (If you have never seen her home,  click here, it is absolutely gorgeous.  Joni has an amazing signature style).  Lisa also has a love of the beach that draws her to a relaxed, coastal style.  After learning about places, things and people that inspire her, I got to work on creating a custom design plan.

Here is the Design Plan Video:

My goal was to combine the romance of french inspired design with the casual, relaxed style of the beach into Lisa's semi-formal home.  The name I came up with that best describes this design plan is "Coastal Elegance".  A little business, a little beach, and a touch of french (from the Texas coast :)).

Lisa has a knack for decorating and display.  After seeing the photos of her home, I was completely humbled that she called upon me for advice.  All she needed was a little direction on introducing a lighter, slightly more casual look into her refined home.  I know she will do an amazing job implementing the new "Coastal Elegance" design.

  1. I love this style too and am trying to achieve it in my house using what I have and bringing in lots of natural elements. I love this mood board and how touches of black in the rod, light fixture and table ground the lighter elements. So pretty.
