It's been a tradition for over 50 years. We all (30+ people) go to the local tree farm, toast the trees with a cheap brandy who will never get cut down because of their appearance, and cut down a 22 foot tree to bring back to the house to decorate. This house is the house my dad and his 5 other brother and sisters grew up in. This huge tree is put up in the middle of the house and decorated with all of the ornaments from my dads childhood. I was trying to be so, so quiet not to wake anyone up. When I reached the living room it was only lit up from the glow of the Christmas tree lights and beautiful, wonderful items were left by SANTA!!!! I stood there in amazement. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Santa Claus had come to our house! That feeling returns to me every single year. I absolutely LOVE Christmas and the spirit it brings. Not only is it filled with love, but there is truly something magical. My hope is that everyone is able to experience that feeling at least once in their lifetime. Wishing you an absolutely wonderful and MAGICAL Holiday season! We make our own Check Mix, get in Christmas pajamas and watch The Polar Express. It kicks off our holiday season and the kids (now 4 of them) love it!
