Asymmetrical Fireplace Built Ins - Traditional Family Room

*I now have openings for new online design projects! Please note, I have a limited amount of spots available and they will be filled on first come, first serve basis.

Hello friends! Take a look at this Living Room design plan I just delivered to an EDesign Client! My client has a love for classic, timeless, traditional style (Southern Home and Sarah Richardson). She came to me for a plan to give her room an updated look and a new furniture arrangement.

This is a large room with two openings, an off set fireplace and a large wall of windows. These great features made furniture placement a little tricky for my client. I created a new look for her by recommending properly scaled pieces in a new arrangement and in an updated style. But, the biggest change I made in the space is a fireplace makeover. In order to make the room feel balanced, I suggested that my client have a builtin bookcase installed on just one side of the fireplace. The asymmetrical design actually makes the room feel more symmetrical overall by filling up more of the wall space that the fireplace resides on. Drawing the eye right to this beautiful focal point.
